Notes: Caddy may be the player to grab this week. After going undrafted in many leagues,Caddy has emerged to the top of the TB depth Chart. However 2 major knee surgeries in 2 years is still something to worry about.
RB / Mike Bell / NO
28 Att - 153 Yds
Notes: Bell looked great in his his New Orleans debut. There are already whispers of him keeping the job when Thomas returns. We think one game against the worse team in the league makes that assumption a little premature but he's a must have handcuff at the very least.
WR / Donny Avery / StL
6 Rec - 46 Yds
Notes: After sliding in most drafts with an injured foot and doubts of being ready for the opener, Avery looks to be 100% and ready to improve on his rookie totals.
RB / Julius Jones / Sea
19 Att - 117 Yds - 1Td
Notes: Another veteran back who slipped considerably in most drafts. The return of a Seattle passing game may be just what it takes to jump start Mr. Jones.
QB / Joe Flacco / Bal
26 - 43 - 307 Yds - 3tds
Notes: While he won't face KC every week, 330 yards and 3 tds will certainly boost the confidence of this promising sophomore..
WR / Earl Bennett / Chi
7 Rec - 66 Yds
Notes: Despite no TDs and less than spectacular yardage, the pre-season sleeper hauled in 7 receptions and is the early front runner as the go to guy for Cutler.
RB / Fred Jackson / Buff
15 Att - 57 Yds / 5 Rec - 83 - 1Td
Notes: Jackson amassed 140 total yards and looked like the most driven player on the field at times. Should Marhsawn Lynch be worried? We think so. At least a little.
Notes: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Rams WR Laurent Robinson has emerged as the Rams' leading receiver this preseason and has tightened his grip on the team's No. 2 wide receiver job. "It's an opportunity for me," Robinson said. "I got traded into a good situation." Acquired from Atlanta in the offseason in an exchange of draft positions, Robinson is making the most of that opportunity with a team that's short on experienced wide receivers. In three preseason contests, Robinson has caught 10 passes for 137 yards.
Notes: For the fist time since week 2 of last season (164 yards on 21 carries) McFadden looks healthy. As long as he stays that way, he should land the starting job and bulk of the touches making him at worse a RB2 to start the season.
Notes: We think Edwards is primed for a breakout season. With the addition of Terrell Owens, and James Hardy having a year under his belt, the Bills suddenly have a top receiving corp. If the revamped line can give Trent a little more protection than last year, he could put up some impressive numbers.
Notes: Brady has looked great in camp so far. He's still sliding a bit in some drafts but slowly creeping his way back up.
Stock Falling
RB / Ernest Graham / TB
1 Att - 1 Yds
Notes: After a surprising year, Graham looks to be the odd man odd behind a resurgent Caddy and Ward this season. Given Caddy's injury history he still has value in deeper leagues.
WR / Steve Smith / Car
3 rec - 21 Yds
Notes: While still considered one of the most dangerous WRs in the league, he slides this week. Its only one week but fans are already turning on Delhomme.
RB / Steve Slaton / TB
9 Att - 17 Yds
Notes: Slaton can't be blamed for the collapse of the entire offense, but on the heels of plummeting stock in the pre-season, we have actually seen Slaton dropped in a few leagues. We see him as a great buy low candidate. While his TDs may be down, he should still be an huge part of Houston's offense.
WR / Braylon Edwards / Cle
1 rec - 12 Yds
Notes: Coming off a very disappointing year, Edwards will be under the fantasy owner microscope early on. 1 catch in his debut is not the way to win back his owners.
QB / Jay Cutler / Chi
17/36 - 277Yds - 1TD - 4Ints
Notes: 4 picks in his debut against the division rival, Packers will not win over fans. We know its only week one and certainly expect him to rebound but considering the talent level of WRs in Chicago, his numbers may be capped.
Notes: Losing goal line carries is pretty cut and dry. There has been speculation of this all pre-season but now that its confirmed, Slaton loses around 8-10 tds and much fantasy value. He still has breakaway the speed to core a few times this year but his value takes a big hit.
Notes: Chaz Schilens was having the best camp out of all of Oakland’s wide receivers and was making a strong push to be the team’s No. 1 wideout. That all changed Tuesday when the second-year player was running a route, planted his left foot to make a cut then immediately felt a sharp pain.
Notes: A trade may actually help his stock, but a lot would hinge on what team he went to. It's starting to look as if Marshall's days in Denver may be over. Until then a disgruntled WR with weak armed QB is falling out of our top 10.
Notes: One game may be a record for an NLF QB to get booed in his first game. We didn't like Orton on a defense first team where he didn't have to throw and we certainly are not expecting him to survive the pressure of a town that still worships John Elway.
Notes: Though the injury to Knowshon doesn't appear serious, missing 2 weeks in training camp as a rookie drops him down a notch or two. We still expect big things from him this year but just hope his knee heals as expected and he's 100% by week 1.
Notes: What was first thought to have been a power move by Todd Haley to motivate Bowe may have actually backfired. SInce his demotion Bowe has caught a nasty case of dropitious. We still expect Bowe to be starting day 1 but this merits keeping an eye on.
Notes: Clark has had a history with concussions. To have one so soon in the year is very alarming. Keep a close eye on him the rest of the preseason. Multiple concussions are not to be taken lightly.
